Lucy Spraggan - Paper Cuts

Hello there! I hope you are well.

Today I wanted to talk about music. I am a big music lover. I could listen to it for hours and hours. I do listen to the big artists but this blog post will be about a less well known one.

Lucy Spraggan is a British singer-songwriter who also plays the guitar. I know her from her audition on the X-Factor two years ago. She performed her own song 'Last night' which you can watch HERE. She was successful on the show but had to drop out when she become ill so ended up finishing 9th.

Since then she has released an album 'Join the Club' on the 4th October 2013.

Her newest single to date is 'Paper Cuts'. It hasn't actually been released but she did a live performance of it on the Youtube channel Ontsofa. I heard it and absolutely fell in love with it! It is a beautiful song so I just had to do a blog post about it.

Her voice is amazing and she shows such raw emotion. The piano player is really talented. That fact that it is acoustic means there is more emphasis on the lyrics of the song. The lyrics I think are the most important part of this song. She is sharing such an inspirational and encouraging message to those who really need it. She is singing about issues that affect ordinary people not about riches and fame which I know I can't relate to.

I think anyone who has had a problem to overcome in their life can find hope and encouragement in this song. Whatever you are going through, you can get through it and you can leave it behind in your past. She is giving people the message that you are better and bigger than your issues. After she has written such an incredible song I have found even more respect for Lucy Spraggan as an artist.

I hope you enjoyed this post about music. What did you think of the song? I'll speak to you soon.
