Lilac Spring Nails

Hello there! I hope you are all well.

As it is the Easter holidays for the next two weeks, exciting things are happening! These include lots of shopping (I've got some 'haul style' posts coming up later this week so keep your eyes peeled for that) and painting my nails. At my school I am not allowed to paint my nails so in the holidays it is a special treat for me - it's about loving the little things.
Even though I do have quite a few nail varnishes looking through them I couldn't find anything well... 'springy' enough. Although that does sound a little ironic considering as I am writing this it is dark and gloomy and pouring with rain. That's British weather for you. Back to the point. At the weekend I went out to buy myself some new nail varnish and came back with this...
Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint by Barry M
in the colour 'Prickly Pear' 350

I would just quickly like to apologise for the poor lighting the photos! I'm a blogging newbie so just learning the ropes. I'm not sure if you can really tell but this is a matte lilac nail varnish which I absolutely love. I'm purple obsessed which you be able to tell if you've seen my room! The colour is a slightly darker pastel and has a spring essence about it. The only thing I don't like about the colour is its name 'prickly pear'. I find it just a little off putting. I have never seen a lilac pear either. I'm not sure where Barry M were going with that one.

The formula is quite thin and lacking in colour however I think this is due to this being a light colour and after two or three coats it look great. It is very easy to apply and dries well but not particularly quick. It basically has everything you need in an average nail varnish.

The packaging is good. It's a classic rectangular glass bottle with a shiny screw top. I like beauty products in glass packaging because it makes them seem more expensive than they really are especially as I purchase products almost exclusively in high street shops/drug stores.

I can't comment on it's lasting and chip resistant power because I have only had this on for about three days. So far so good with only a few tiny scratches. A little tip for you: be careful when putting hair grips in your hair not long after you have applied nail varnish. Trust me it doesn't end well!

This could have ended badly too...
Trying to be artisic by putting nail varnish by a candle. Hmm...I've got to admit not the best idea I've had! Nail varnish is flammable please don't be as stupid as me. The photo isn't even that good.

At just £3.99 I think this nail varnish is is a good buy and I am happy with my spring nails.

What's your favourite nail varnish? What colour you going for this spring? I'd love to know!
I'll see you soon with some shopping goodies!

Until then BysieBye
Beccsie Belle
